5-door Force Gurkha launched in India at Rs 18 lakh

The much-awaited Force Gurkha 5-door has finally been launched in India at Rs 18 lakh. Its 3-door sibling has also been reintroduced in the Indian market. The 3-door Gurkha rocks a few updates and costs Rs 16.75 lakh. Bookings for the Gurkha were opened earlier this week. Force Motors has set the token amount to Rs 25,000. The automaker will begin the delivery rollout this month.

Force Gurkha: What’s on offer?

The new 3-door and 5-door Force Gukhas retain the signature boxy design of the lifestyle SUV. The 5-door SUV gets additional rear doors and segmented rear windows. It has a wheelbase of 2,825mm, making it 425mm longer than its 3-door counterpart. Both SUVs have identical designs, featuring circular LED headlamps, LED DRLs, and a two-slat grille. The SUV now rests on new 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. The LED tail lamps at the back have a vertical layout.

2024 Force Gurkha: What to expect?

Inside, the new Force Gurkha features a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support. Also present is a digital instrument cluster. Other features include a rear camera, tilt and telescopic steering adjust, traction control, and hill hold assist. The Tyre Pressure Monitoring System shows the pressure of the spare tyre mounted on the tailgate as well.

2024 Force Gurkha: What to expect?

Powering the Force Gurkha is the familiar 2.6-litre four-cylinder diesel engine which is sourced from Mercedes. This engine now produces a better output. It can churn out 140hp and 320Nm. This engine is paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. The outgoing Gurkha could only produce a maximum power output of 91hp. Force is also offering 4WD as a standard feature on the Gurkha.

Conclusion

The 5-door Force Gurkha can seat 7 passengers, while its 3-door sibling has a seating capacity of 5 people. There are four colour options on offer – Green, Red, White, and Black. In India, the Force Gurka rivals other lifestyle SUVs in the Mahindra Thar and Maruti Suzuki Jimny.
