5-door Force Gurkha arrives at dealerships ahead of launch

Force Motors could be launching its 5-door Force Gurkha SUV in the coming months. The off-roader has already started arriving at dealerships for staff training, which means a release is imminent. Currently, Force Gurkha is only sold in a three-door version with a diesel engine and 5-speed manual transmission as standard across all variants. Following its arrival at dealerships, spy videos and images of its interiors have surfaced online.

Next-gen Force Gurkha: What to expect?

The three-door Force Gurkha has been the sole rival to the immensely popular Mahindra Thar for quite a while now. Force Motors is looking to gain a stronger foothold in the market with its 5-door avatar of the Force Gurkha. The 5-door Gurkha will seat 7 people and receive an additional seating row at the back. Unsurprisingly, it will also be a bigger vehicle than its 3-door counterpart which currently stands at dimensions of 4,116 x 1,812 x 2,075 mm.

Force Motors could offer multiple seating options on the 5-door Gurkha. The 6-seat option could see 2 captain seats on the second and third row. The 7-seat option will have a bench seat in the middle row with captain seats in the front and third rows. The 9-seater will have a bench seat in the middle row followed by two parallel benches in the third row.

The interior spy shots that have emerged confirm that the 5-door Force Gurkha will retain most of the design elements from its 3-door counterpart. This includes the dark grey dashboard, manual AC unit, and touchscreen infotainment system. The finer details will only be made clear upon launch.

Under the hood, the 5-door Force Gurkha will retain the 2.6-litre diesel engine sourced from Mercedes. This engine is capable of generating maximum power of 91bhp and 250Nm peak torque. It will be paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox. A 4 Wheel Drive variant will also be on offer.

Conclusion

While no details of the launch date have been made public, buyers can expect the Force Gurkha to roll out in the next few months. It is also possible for the off-roader to be offered in two wheel-size options. Upon launch, the 5-door Force Gurkha will rival Mahindra Thar and the 5-door Maruti Suzuki Jimny which is expected to make its debut in AutoExpo 2023. Mahindra could also launch its 5-door Thar next year.
