German automaker Audi has finally launched the 2022 Audi A8 L in India. The premium sedan will be offered in two variants – the Celebration Edition and the Technology Edition. The Celebration will cost Rs 1.29 crore while the Technology Edition will fetch Rs 1.57 crore. Bookings for the facelift model started in May with a token booking amount of Rs 10 lakh.

The 2022 Audi A8 L sees significant upgrades over the outgoing model. The front end looks visibly fresh with a bold new mesh pattern across the chrome-laced front grille, and newly designed Audi Digital Matrix LED headlights. The rear end also gets newly designed OLED tail lamps. The Audi A8 L also gets new dual-tone 10-inch alloy wheels with chrome inserts.
The 2022 Audi A8 L Celebration Edition is available with a 5-person capacity, while the Technology Edition gets an option as a 4-seater and a 5-seater. The interiors remain largely unchanged apart from a few upgrades. The 10.1-inch infotainment display has been retained on the new A8 L but gets a new MIB3 operating system. The 8.6-inch curved display for climate control and seating functions has also been retained. The rear seats come with two 10.1-inch infotainment screens of their own along with a Rear Relaxation package.
There aren’t any changes under the hood either as the Audi A8 L continues with the 3.0-litre turbo petrol V6 engine of the outgoing model. This V6 engine can generate a maximum power of 335hp and 540Nm torque. An 8-speed automatic transmission carries the power across the vehicle. The 2022 Audi A8 L can reach 0-100kmph in 5.7 seconds with a top speed of 250kmph.
