Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 Spotted Testing Again

One of the much-awaited motorbikes, the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 has been spotted testing again. The spy shots of the adventure tourer have been doing rounds on the internet for quite some time now. The recently spied prototypes of the Himalayan 450 now appear close to their production version.

Features of the new motorbike that are clearly visible from the spotted test mules include a wide single-piece handlebar, split seats, a large tail rack and its dual-purpose rear tyre. Hardware enhancements on the new adventure motorbike include a new sturdier frame, wire-spoke wheels with upside-down forks at the front and a mono-shock at the rear.

In terms of technical features, the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 will come equipped with a fully-digital instrument cluster which is likely to support smartphone connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation along with a range of touring accessories.

What is retained in the new Himalayan 450 from its predecessors includes the 21-inch front and 17-inch rear spoke wheels. Coming to the mechanical specs, it is powered by an all-new 450cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled unit. Speculations also say that this new engine might offer ride-by-wire technology which offers different ride modes.

Incidentally, the new Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 was not alone when spotted testing. It was reportedly accompanied by another test mule, which is expected to be the brand’s new under-construction model, the Hunter 350. This accompanying model, however, may instead be a scrambler version of the new Himalayan 450 ADV.

The all-new Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 is expected to launch sometime early next year and will be seen competing against KTM 390 Adventure. The Himalayan 450 price range is expected to be attractive, somewhere in the range of Rs 2,60,000 to Rs 2,70,000.
