Prices for Volvo C40 Recharge hiked by Rs 1.70 lakh in India

Volvo’s second all-electric offering in India, the Volvo C40 Recharge, was launched at an introductory price of Rs 61.25 lakh last month. The introductory offer has now ended and the automaker has hiked the prices for the EV by Rs 1.70. The Volvo C40 Recharge is now priced at Rs 62.95 lakh. Last month, Volvo hiked the prices for XC60, XC90, and S90 in India.

Volvo C40 Recharge: Everything you need to know

Volvo C40 Recharge is marked by a sloping roofline which gives it the signature coupe-SUV look. The tailgate and rear windscreen get a different design than the XC40 Recharge. Volvo has also made the wraparound tail lamps sleeker on the C40 Recharge. The coupe-SUV gets the automaker’s signature Thor Hammer LED DRLs. The EV rests on 19-inch alloy wheels.

Inside, the Volvo C40 Recharge gets a 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system that is locked into portrait orientation. This infotainment system gets an Android-based OS which comes with Google Maps, Assistant, and other apps from the Google Play Store. Other features include a Harmon Kardon sound system, a 360-degree camera, a panoramic sunroof, wireless charging, powered front seats, dual-zone climate control, and ADAS features like autonomous driving.

Volvo C40 Recharge shares its Compact Modular Architecture (CMA) Platform with the XC40 Recharge. The coupe-SUV is powered by a dual motor that generates a maximum power output of 408hp and 660Nm of torque. It gets a 78kWh battery pack that delivers a driving range of 530km. Using a 150kW fast charger, this battery pack can be fully replenished in just over 30 minutes.

Conclusion

Since its launch, Volvo has received over 100 bookings for the C40 Recharge. The electric coupe-SUV rivals the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6 in India. Meanwhile, the Volvo XC40 Recharge is priced at Rs 56.90 lakh.
