Tata Motors took the wraps off the new Tata Safari and Harrier facelift models last week. The SUVs get significant cosmetic upgrades inside and out but remain mechanically unchanged. The automaker has now revealed the official fuel efficiency numbers for the two new SUVs. While there are no changes under the hood, the mileage of the two facelift SUVs has improved slightly.

Tata Safari and Harrier facelifts: Check out the new mileage numbers
Powering the new Tata Safari and Harrier facelifts is the same old 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel engine from the outgoing models. This engine can generate a maximum power output of 170hp and 350Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.
Tata Safari offers a mileage of 16.30 kmpl on the manual variant and 14.50 kmpl on the automatic variant. This is an improvement of 0.14 kmpl and 0.42 kmpl over their respective outgoing variants. Meanwhile, the Harrier offers a fuel efficiency of 16.80 kmpl for the manual variant and 14.60 kmpl for the automatic variant. The mileage of Harrier’s automatic transmission variant remains unchanged but the manual variant sees an improvement of 0.45 kmpl.
Tata Safari and Harrier facelifts get features like wireless charging, paddle shifters, a 10-speaker JBL sound system, a panoramic sunroof, an ADAS package, and more. Buyers can choose between two free-standing touchscreen infotainment system sizes – 10.25-inch and 12.3-inch. This infotainment system is accompanied by a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. Both SUVs also get a flat-bottom four-spoke steering with an illuminated Tata logo.

Bookings for the Tata Safari and Harrier facelifts are currently underway for a token amount of Rs 25,000. The automaker will reveal the pricing for the two SUVs by the end of October. The delivery rollout will take place soon after the price announcement. Tata Safari and Harrier facelifts rival the Mahindra XUV700, Hyundai Alcazar, Jeep Compass, Mahindra Scorpio N, and MG Hector Plus.
