Nissan Magnite is the latest SUV that has been confirmed to get a price hike next year. Popular offerings from major automakers like Maruti Suzuki, MG Motor, Mahindra, Tata Motors, Hyundai, BMW, Audi, and others will also receive a price increment in January 2024. While Nissan has not acknowledged the reason behind the hike, other automakers cite the rise in input and production costs as the primary driver behind this decision.

Nissan Magnite to get costlier next year

Prices for the Nissan Magnite currently start at Rs 6 lakh and go up to Rs 10.86 lakh. There are 4 variants on offer – XE, XL, XV, and XV Premium. The automaker has not announced the new prices for the SUV, but the increase in costs may differ among variants. The Magnite is also available in three special editions – Kuro, Geza, and Red. This month, Nissan is offering discounts of up to Rs 97,550 on the Magnite.

Talking about the features, the Nissan Magnite comes with an 8-inch touchscreen with WiFi connectivity (Apple CarPlay and Android Auto), a 7-inch TFT instrument cluster, wireless charging, ambient mood lighting, push-button start, and an air purifier. Safety features include a Traction Control System, Hill Assist, and Brake Assist. The Geza Edition of the SUV gets a larger 9-inch touchscreen unit for the infotainment system.

Nissan Magnite is available in two powertrain options. The 1.0-litre petrol engine generates a maximum power output of 72hp and 96Nm of torque. This engine is now available with a 5-speed AMT gearbox alongside the existing manual gearbox. Meanwhile, the 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine churns out a peak power output of 100hp and 160Nm of torque. This engine can be mated to a manual or CVT gearbox.

The Kuro edition is the SUV’s all-black avatar, while the Red edition has special red highlights inside and out. Nissan Magnite rivals the likes of Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300, Tata Punch, and Maruti Suzuki Brezza in India.
