Maruti Suzuki Invicto: First teaser explained

This is Maruti’s first teaser drop for the Invicto. Expect more details about the MPV to be confirmed in the following teasers. In the first teaser, the automaker gives a glimpse at the new mesh grille and the LED headlamps flanking it on either side. Two chrome slats run horizontally across the grille, connecting the two headlamps. The LED DLRs feature a three-dot design, similar to the Grand Vitara and Baleno. A glimpse of the interior reveals the leather upholstery and ventilated seats.

Maruti has also confirmed that it will offer the Invicto in a single, strong hybrid variant. This means it will miss out on the 172hp-producing 2.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. Instead, it will get the 2.0-litre four-cylinder, Atkinson cycle petrol engine that produces a maximum power output of 181hp and 189Nm of torque. The electric motor paired with this petrol engine will be powered by a Nickel Metal Hydride battery. Both engines produce a combined torque of 206Nm. There are no manual transmission options for strong-hybrid variants, which means the Invicto will get an e-CVT gearbox.

Maruti Suzuki has kept a tight light on the interior layout so far. Even the rear profile of the MPV has not been revealed. That may change as we get closer to the launch date. It is expected that the Maruti Suzuki Invicto will get Ottoman seating for the middle row. It may share its touchscreen infotainment system with the Grand Vitara. The Invicto is also expected to get a large MID screen for the instrument cluster.

Conclusion

As mentioned earlier, interested buyers can book Maruti Suzuki Invicto for a token amount of Rs 25,000. The Invicto is the first Toyota product to be rebadged as a Maruti offering in India. Upon launch, the MPV will rival the likes of Tata Safari, Mahindra XUV700, and Toyota Innova HyCross.
