Toyota Innova HyCross launched at a starting price of Rs 18.30 lakh

Toyota has launched the new Toyota Innova HyCross MPV in India at a starting price of Rs 18.30 lakh. The high-end Hybrid ZX (O) variant has been priced at Rs 28.97 lakh. The Innova HyCross can currently be booked at a token amount of Rs 50,000. The MPV has been made available in 8 variants with different powertrains and seating configurations.

The Innova HyCross has an SUV-inspired front profile, featuring an upright hexagonal grille with chrome and black highlights. Wraparound LED headlamps and LED DRLs flank the grille on either side. The prominent lines running along the bumper add to the muscular look of the MPV.

Along the sides, the HyCross looks undeniably like an MPV. The crease from the bumper runs across the side and merges with the wrap-around tail lamps. The HyCross also sports a bolder shoulder line than its predecessor. It retains the large glasshouse from the Crysta and features 10-spoke chrome alloy wheels. The HyCross is also visibly bigger than the Crysta, with dimensions of 4,755mm x 1,850mm x 1,795mm and a wheelbase of 2,850mm.

Inside, the HyCross sports a completely different look than the Crysta. The MPV gets a multi-layered dashboard setup with a 10.1-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system which comes with smartphone mirroring and connected car tech. There’s also an option of a dual-tone interior theme or an all-black theme. The MPV will be made available in 7 and 8-person seating options.

When it comes to safety, the Innova HyCross gets Toyota’s ADAS package, dubbed the Toyota Safety Sense. This package includes safety features like Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Lane Departure Alert (LDA), Automatic High Beam (AHB), and Road Sign Assist (RSB). Toyota Innova HyCross also gets wireless charging, a 360-degree camera, a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, climate control, cruise control, individual digital screens for rear passengers, and much more.

Toyota has ditched the diesel engine option for the HyCross and made it available in petrol and a hybrid powertrain. The Toyota Innova HyCross is powered by a 2.0-litre petrol engine that produces a maximum power output of 152hp and 187Nm torque. This engine is paired with fifth-gen strong hybrid tech (M20A FXS) and can produce a combined power of 186hp. The non-hybrid variant of the HyCross produces 174hp and 197Nm. Both engine variants will be paired to an automatic gearbox. There is no option for a manual transmission. The HyCross offers a mileage of 21.2 kmpl, as claimed by Toyota.
