Mid-spec GTX trim added to Kia Seltos and Sonet SUVs

Kia India has added a new mid-spec GTX trim to the Seltos and Sonet lineup. The two SUVs have also received a new colour option. The GTX trim for the Seltos and Sonet is only available with automatic gearbox options. Kia Seltos GTX is priced at Rs 19 lakh while the Sonet GTX fetches Rs 13.71 lakh for the petrol variant and Rs 14.56 lakh for the diesel variant.

Kia Seltos and Sonet GTX: What’s new?

Here is the full price list for the GTX trims of Kia Seltos and Sonet.

The GTX trim sits between the HTX+ and GTX+(S) trims of the Kia Seltos and the HTX+ and GTX+ trims of the Sonet. The Seltos GTX is equipped with features like 18-inch alloys, rain-sensing wipers, an electronic parking brake, a 360-degree camera, and an ADAS package. The higher-spec GTX+(S) trim of the Kia Seltos gets additional features like an air purifier, a powered driver’s seat, and a Bose sound system.

Meanwhile, the Sonet GTX gets a powered driver’s seat and a 360-degree camera over the HTX+ variant. Features like ambient lighting, Bose sound system, and ADAS are available on the higher-spec GTX+ trim of the Sonet. Being GT Line trims, the Seltos and Sonet GTX get the Aurora Black Pearl paint shade option.

Kia Seltos GTX is available in two engine options – 1.5-litre turbo petrol and 1.5-litre diesel. The turbo petrol engine generates a maximum power output of 115hp and 144Nm of torque. Meanwhile, the 1.5-litre turbo diesel engine puts out 116hp and 250Nm. The two engines are mated to DCT and AT gearboxes respectively.

The Sonet GTX is also available in the 1.5-litre turbo diesel powertrain. Additionally, it gets a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine option as well. This engine generates a maximum power output of 120hp and 172Nm of torque. This engine is mated to a DCT gearbox.

Conclusion

Prices for the Kia Seltos range start at Rs 10.90 lakh and go up to Rs 20.37 lakh. It rivals Hyundai Creta, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun, Honda Elevate, Citroen C3 Aircross, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, and Toyota Urban Cruiser HyRyder. Meanwhile, the Sonet range is priced between Rs 7.99 lakh and Rs 15.77 lakh. It rivals Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV300, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Nissan Magnite, Tata Nexon, and Renault Kiger.
