Maruti Suzuki Eeco hits 10 lakh sales landmark

Maruti has sold 10 lakh units of its MPV, Maruti Suzuki Eeco. This makes Eeco India’s best-selling van since its launch back in 2001. First introduced as Versa in 2001, the MPV was rebranded as Eeco in 2010. Maruti Suzuki is one of the most versatile MPVs around – available in 13 variants including 5-seater, 7-seater, Cargo, Tour, and even an Ambulance.

Maruti Suzuki Eeco: Dominating the MPV sphere

The Maruti Suzuki Eeco is available in two powertrain options: 1.2-litre petrol and CNG. The 1.2-litre Advanced K-Series Dual Jet, Dual VVT engine produces a maximum power output of 79hp @ 6000rpm. In a CNG configuration, this engine puts out 70hp @ 6000rpm. The petrol engine delivers fuel efficiency of 20.20 km/l while in a CNG configuration, the Eeco offers a mileage of 27.05 km/kg.

Maruti Suzuki Eeco comes with features like driver-focused controls, reclining front seats, and a cabin air filter. The MPV also gets safety features like an engine immobiliser, illuminated hazard switch, dual airbags, ABS with EBD, and more. The Eeco also gets a fully digital instrument cluster similar to the one found on S-Presso, Celerio, and Alto K10.

Expressing gratitude towards customers for the milestone, Mr Shashank Srivastava, Senior Executive Officer, Marketing & Sales, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said, “Eeco dominates the van segment with over 94% market share. It has been the trusted choice of over 10 lakh customers, adapting to their evolving needs over the years. Interestingly, the first 5 lakh sales milestone for Eeco took 8 years, while the next 5 lakh sales milestone was achieved in under 5 years, speaking volumes about the quality, trust, and reliability it brings to the table. We thank our customers for their faith in us, making Eeco the preferred choice of customers, and the highest-selling van in the country.”
