Entry-level Jeep Meridian variants discontinued

Jeep India has discontinued the entry-level variants of Jeep Meridian. Prices for the Meridian now start at Rs 32.95 lakh. This change makes Limited (O) MT the new entry-level variant in the Meridian lineup. The top-spec Meridian X variant is priced at Rs 38.10 lakh. The automaker has also introduced the Adventure Assured Program for Compass and Meridian SUVs. The SUVs are now available at an EMI of Rs 40,000.

Jeep Meridian: New price list and other details

Here is what the updated price list for Jeep Meridian looks like.

Powering the Jeep Meridian is the 2.0-litre MultiJet diesel engine. This unit produces a maximum power output of 168hp and 350Nm peak torque. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and a 9-speed automatic gearbox. The Meridian is also available in an All Wheel Drive configuration.

The Meridian is 36.4cm longer, 4.1cm wider and 4.2cm taller than Jeep Compass, with the wheelbase being longer by 15.8cm. It gets the iconic 7-slat grille that’s flanked on either end by sleek LED headlamps. At the back, a chrome bar connects the two tail lamps. The SUV rests on 18-inch alloy wheels. The SUV is also available in a special ‘Club’ edition.

Inside, the Jeep Meridian features a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system along with a 10.25-inch fully-digital instrument cluster, ventilated front seats, wireless phone charging, 360-degree camera, dual-zone climatic control, 6 airbags, and Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support, amongst others.

Conclusion

Before getting axed, Jeep had slashed the prices for the entry-level variant of the Meridan by Rs 2.35 lakh. With prices for the Meridian now starting at Rs 32.95 lakh, the SUV rivals Toyota Fortuner, Skoda Kodiaq, and MG Gloster in India.
