Volkswagen India has revealed the feature list for the upcoming R-Line model of the Tiguan SUV. Pre-bookings for the Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line are currently open for a token amount of Rs 25,000. The SUV will launch in India on April 14. It will be imported as a Completely Built Up (CBU) unit. The R-Line will get some cosmetic changes and feature upgrades.

Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line: What’s new?
The front fascia of the Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line boasts LED Plus headlamps and a glass-covered horizontal strip. The radiator grille openings are located towards the ends of the front bumper. The air curtains ensure optimal air flow. The profile of the SUV showcases an athletic shoulder line over the rounded wheel arches. It also gets R-Line inspired 19-inch ‘Coventry’ alloy wheels. The R-Line badging can be found on the front fenders. At the back, the LED headlamps are connected by an LED light bar. The SUV stands at dimensions of 4539mm x 1859mm x 1656mm and has a 2,680mm wheelbase.
The Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line gets a 3-zone climate control system, a panoramic sunroof, two wireless chargers, 30-colour ambient lighting, Park Assist Plus with Park Distance Control, and massage seats with adjustable lumbar support. The front seats sport the ‘R-Line’ branding. The dashboard features an illuminated ‘R’ logo. The SUV also gets an illuminated moulding between the headlamps, rear combination lamps and illuminated door handle recesses.
The Volkswagen Tiguan R Line will be powered by a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine. This engine can produce a maximum power output of 204hp and 320Nm of torque. It is mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. The SUV will also get Volkswagen’s 4Motion AWD system. It can go from 0-100kmph in 7.1 seconds, with the top speed capped at 229kmph.

As mentioned earlier, the Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line will be launched in India on April 14. It will be made available in 6 monotone colours: Persimmon Red Metallic, Cipressino Green Metallic, Nightshade Blue Metallic, Grenadilla Black Metallic, Oryx White with Mother of Pearl Effect, and Oyster Silver Metallic. We expect it to fetch up to Rs 50 lakh. In comparison, the regular Tiguan is priced at Rs 38.17 lakh. The R-Line will rival the BMW X1, Volvo XC40, Mercedes Benz GLA, and Audi Q3 in India.
