Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has dropped the first teaser for the Aero Edition of its popular midsize SUV. The Toyota Urban Cruiser HyRyder ‘Aero Edition’ is expected to launch in the upcoming festive season. The teaser depicts the SUV in an undisguised form. The interior will likely be revealed in the next teaser drop. The special edition will sport an all-black look.

Toyota Urban Cruiser HyRyder: What to expect from the Aero Edition
The new ‘Aero Edition’ of the HyRyder will feature an all-black exterior. The grille will get a faux carbon fibre finish. The SUV will get exclusive ‘Aero Edition’ badging. The all-black colour theme will be carried over to the interior as well. The SUV will get black upholstery along with some minor accents on the dashboard. It remains unclear whether there will be any feature upgrades on this model.
No changes are expected under the hood, as the Aero Edition will continue with the K15C petrol engine. This engine can generate a maximum power output of 101hp and 135Nm of torque. The strong-hybrid setup sports a 1.5L engine with the Toyota Hybrid System. The petrol engine generates a maximum power output of 91hp and 122Nm of torque. The electric motor produces up to 79hp and 141Nm. The hybrid SUV is equipped with a 177.6V lithium-ion battery. Toyota claims a mileage of 27.97 kmpl for the strong hybrid setup.
Last week, Toyota Kirloskar Motor announced Drum Tao, the Japanese performance group, as its brand ambassadors. The group is set to embark on a 14-city tour across India in November. The Aero Edition will be launched at one of these shows. The tour will continue till December.

Final Thoughts
The standard HyRyder lineup starts at Rs 10.95 lakh and goes up to Rs 19.76 lakh. The Aero Edition will cost a small premium over these prices. Upon launch, it will rival the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Volkswagen Taigun, Honda Elevate, Citroen C3 Aircross, and Skoda Kushaq.
