India-bound Toyota Innova HyCross will come with ADAS

Toyota recently unveiled the India-bound Toyota Innova HyCross in Indonesia as Toyota Innova Zenix. Innova HyCross is set to debut in India later this week and has been one of the most anticipated cars this year. Prior to its debut, Toyota Kirloskar Motors has confirmed that the Indian version of the HyCross will come with Toyota’s ADAS package called Toyota Safety Sense. The Indonesian version of the HyCross, Toyota Zenix, features Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, and the automaker will be retaining it for the India-bound variant as well. Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 comes with safety features like Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Lane Departure Alert (LDA), Automatic High Beam (AHB), and Road Sign Assist (RSB).

Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) alerts the driver of oncoming pedestrians and moving vehicles when there is a possibility of a collision. If the driver fails to hit the brakes, the car automatically deploys braking to avoid a collision or reduce the impact. Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) maintains a preset distance to the vehicle in front of you. In case the distance between the two cars reduces, TSS will decelerate your car and eventually apply the brakes. When the distance increases, your car will accelerate until you hit cruising speed.

Lane Departure Assist (LDA) uses the camera to identify road markings and alerts the driver when the car starts to cross the markings without turning on the turn indicator. Automatic High Beam (AHB) comes in handy during the nighttime and adjusts your light beam according to the oncoming traffic. Road Sign Assist uses the camera to identify the road signs (like speed limit) and alerts the driver whenever there’s a breach.
