Toyota Innova HyCross, HyRyder, and Fortuner get a price hike

Toyota Kirloskar Motor will be hiking the prices for Toyota Innova HyCross, Urban Cruiser HyRyder and Fortuner this month. The automaker says that the rise in input costs is the reason behind the hike. This price hike will be implemented across Toyota’s portfolio, but the exact amount of the hike is not known yet.

Toyota Innova HyCross, HyRyder and Fortuner: Updated Prices

While Toyota has not mentioned the exact amount or even the rate of increase, a small bump in prices is expected across its portfolio. Currently, Toyota offers Glanza, Urban Cruiser HyRyder, Innova HyCross, Fortuner, Legender, Vellfire, and Land Cruiser LC300 in India. The newly launched Toyota Innova HyCross has not been excluded from the hike.

The price of Toyota Innova HyCross has already been updated on Toyota’s website. Initially priced at Rs 18.55 lakh, prices for the MPV now start at Rs 18.82 lakh. Toyota Urban Cruiser HyRyder now starts at Rs 10.86 lakh. The Fortuner has now been priced at Rs 32.99 lakh. While the prices for the other models remain the same, they will receive a marginal hike of up to 2%.

The new Toyota Innova HyCross is powered by a 2.0-litre petrol engine that produces a maximum power output of 152hp and 187Nm torque. This engine is paired with fifth-gen strong hybrid tech (M20A FXS) and can produce a combined power of 186hp. The non-hybrid variant of the HyCross produces 174hp and 197Nm. Both engine variants are paired to an automatic gearbox. There is no option for a manual transmission. The HyCross offers a mileage of 21.2 kmpl, as claimed by Toyota.

Conclusion

Toyota is not the only automaker to announce a portfolio-wide price hike this month. On July 3, Tata Motors announced a 0.6% average increase in price across its portfolio. The Tata price is set to kick in from July 17. This is the second price hike this year for both automakers.
