Yesterday, Tata Sierra made a comeback in the Indian market after decades. Tata’s new take on its iconic Sierra SUV from 1991 is as refreshing as it is thrilling. Prices for the SUV start at Rs 11.49 lakh. It comes in 7 trim levels. All 7 trims support Front Wheel Drive (FWD). Tata Sierra: The road ahead

The 2025 Sierra is underpinned by Tata’s new All-Terrain Ready, Omni-Energy, and Geometry Scalable (ARGOS) platform. This platform allows multiple body styles, vehicle lengths, and powertrains. Tata has already teased an all-electric powertrain for the SUV. Given the versatility of the platform, the automaker has also mentioned that an AWD version of the Sierra is also in the works. This configuration will make it to electric and ICE powertrains. As of now, Tata is thinking about introducing it in 2027. It will make its debut on the Sierra EV, followed by the ICE model.

This engine is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. The 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder, naturally aspirated ‘Revotron’ petrol engine generates a maximum power output of 105hp and 145Nm torque. This engine can be mated to a 6-speed manual or 7-speed dual clutch automatic transmission. Lastly, the 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder, ‘Kryojet’ diesel engine puts out 116hp. With a 6-speed manual transmission, it produces 260Nm torque. This output increases to 280Nm when the engine is linked to a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
