Tata Motors has launched the sporty Altroz ‘Racer’ in India at a starting price of Rs 9.49 lakh. The hatchback is available in three variants – R1, R2, and R3. Tata Altroz Racer was first showcased at Auto Expo 2023. It was also present at the Bharat Mobility Expo held earlier this year. The Racer is the most powerful Altroz yet. It also gets some sporty cosmetic changes.

The hatchback gets a dual-tone colour scheme. It is available in three colour options – Atomic Orange, Avenue White, and Pure Grey. In line with the sporty aesthetic, the Altroz Racer has two racing stripes running through its blacked-out bonnet and roof. The C pillars and OVRMs of the car are also finished in black. The special ‘Racer’ badging can be found on the front fenders of the hatchback.
The Tata Altroz Racer receives some exciting premium features over the regular hatchback. The dashboard rocks a larger free-floating 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 7-inch digital instrument cluster. The infotainment system runs the updated operating system. Other premium features on the hatchback include ventilated front seats, a voice-activated electric sunroof, a 360-degree camera, and wireless charging. In terms of safety features, the Altroz Racer gets six airbags and ESC.
Under the hood, the Tata Altroz Racer sports the 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbo petrol engine which is also found on the Altroz iTurbo. However, on the Racer, this engine puts out 120hp and 170Nm, which is 10hp and 30Nm more than the output on the iTurbo. This engine can be mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. There are no automatic options on offer.
