Tata Altroz Racer: Here’s what the leaks reveal
The Tata Altroz Racer will be made available in three trims – R1, R2, and R2. The entry-level R1 variant builds upon the top-spec XZ+ trim of the regular Altroz’s lineup. It adds features like a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, four additional airbags, and an updated exhaust. In comparison to the R2 and R3 trims, the Altroz Racer R1 misses out on the digital instrument cluster and the sunroof.
The R2 variant of the Tata Altroz Racer gets a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, a 360-degree camera, a blind spot monitor, wireless charging, and a powered sunroof. Meanwhile, the top-spec R3 trim also rocks ventilated front seats, an air purifier, and connected tech features.
There are significant cosmetic upgrades on the Tata Altroz Racer. It features a dual-tone colour theme with special racing stripes painted on the bonnet and the roof. The roof, OVRMs, and C pillar of the car are finished in black. The hatchback is also branded with special ‘Racer’ badging on the front fenders.
The leaked brochure confirms the powertrain details and specs for the Tata Altroz Racer as well. The hatchback is powered by the 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbo petrol engine, which is also found on the Altroz iTurbo. This engine is primed to produce a maximum power output of 120hp and 170Nm of torque on the sporty Altroz Racer. On the Altroz iTurbo, it puts out 110hp and 140Nm. Transmission duties on the Racer are handled by a 6-speed manual gearbox. There is no option for an automatic gearbox, although Tata may add it down the line.
