The Tata Altroz test mules that have been spotted so far have been under heavy camouflage. However, they are not able to hide the new cylindrical cutouts for the fog lamps. The windscreen wipers have a frameless design for more aerodynamic movement. The design of the upper and lower grille segments will be tweaked as well. The former is expected to be closed off, while the latter could be wider. The silhouette of the hatchback will remain the same, but the alloy wheels will sport a new look.
Inside, the Tata Altroz facelift will retain the 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system. This infotainment system supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The dashboard layout will remain the same as well, but it could get a new finish. The biggest highlight of the cabin will be the four-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo. Other features will include a powered driver’s seat, IVRM, ventilated seating, ambient lighting, and a dual-pane sunroof.
Under the hood, Tata Altroz is one of the most versatile hatchbacks in India, being offered in 3 powertrain options. These powertrains will be carried forward to the facelifted model. The 1.2-litre NA petrol engine produces a maximum power output of 87hp and 115Nm of torque. The 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine puts out 108hp and 140Nm. The 1.5-litre diesel engine produces 89hp and 200Nm. Lastly, the CNG engine puts out 73hp and 103Nm. All engines can be mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The 1.2L NA petrol engine can also be paired with a 6-speed DCT.
The Altroz Racer is also powered by the 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbo petrol engine. However, on the Altroz Racer, this engine puts out a maximum power output of 120hp and 170Nm of torque. It is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. It is not available with an automatic transmission.
