Maruti Suzuki working on a 7-seater Grand Vitara?
While Maruti Suzuki has not revealed the identity of its 2nd SUV release for 2025, it is widely considered to be the 7-seater Vitara. Test mules of this SUV have been spotted in India on multiple occasions. While the draped camouflage does not reveal any details about the design, the silhouette of the SUV looks very similar to the Grand Vitara. However, its front and rear faces will carry significant design changes.

The Grand Vitara is available in two engine variants – a 1.5-litre K15C petrol engine with mild hybrid technology and Toyota’s 1.5-litre TNGA petrol engine with a strong hybrid system. The former puts out 103hp and 137Nm, while the latter produces 92hp and 137Nm by itself and 115hp and 137Nm in a strong hybrid setup. The electric motor alone produces a maximum power of 80hp with 141Nm peak torque. Its 7-seater version will likely retain these two powertrains.

Inside, the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara rocks a 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a fully digital instrument cluster, a 360-degree camera, a Head-Up Display (HUD), and a panoramic sunroof. It is the first Maruti offering in India to come with a panoramic sunroof.
Prices for the Grand Vitara start at Rs 11.42 lakh and go up to Rs 20.68 lakh. Its 7-seater counterpart may start at Rs 15 lakh. In this price bracket, it will rival the likes of the MG Hector Plus, Mahindra Scorpio N, Tata Safari, Mahindra XUV700, and more.
