Skoda India is currently gearing up to launch the next-gen version of its flagship SUV in the country. Ahead of the launch, Skoda Kodiaq has been spotted testing on Indian roads on multiple occasions. More recently, two undisguised test mules of the SUV were spotted on a road test. This leads us to believe that Skoda could launch two variants of the Kodiaq in India. Currently, the Kodiaq is available in a single L&K trim. It is imported to India via the CKD route.

2025 Skoda Kodiaq: What to expect?
The two Skoda Kodiaq test mules spotted recently had some differences. One had a body-coloured bumper, black trim, and chrome highlights. This will likely be the higher-placed variant. The other mule had some plastic parts and silver highlights. The units also had different designs for the alloy wheels. The higher-spec trim had a multi-spoke design while the other unit rocked aero-optimised alloys.

So far, no spy shots have surfaced of the Skoda Kodiaq’s interior layout. Going by the international model, the India-spec version of the Kodiaq could receive a 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system along with a 10-inch digital instrument cluster. On the international model, there are three physical control knobs in the cabin for temperature, seat ventilation, and volume control. The middle knob can carry out multiple tasks like switching between driving modes and controlling the fan speed. Features like a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, and wireless charging will also be on offer.

Under the hood, the next-gen Skoda Kodiaq will retain the 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine from its predecessor. This engine can produce a maximum power output of 190hp and 320Nm of torque. It is mated to a 7-speed DCT gearbox. Skoda may tune this engine to produce a higher output on the next-gen Kodiaq.

Conclusion
The current-gen model of the Skoda Kodiaq was launched with 3 trims – Style, Sportline, and L&K. The first two trims were discontinued months after the launch of the SUV. At the moment, the SUV is available in a single, top-spec L&K trim. The SUV is priced between Rs 38.50 lakh – Rs 39.99 lakh. Expect the next-gen model to cost a small premium over these prices. It will be launched in India in early 2025. Upon launch, the Skoda Kodiaq will continue to rival MG Gloster, Toyota Fortuner, Jeep Meridian, and Jeep Compass.
