Honda WR-V: Everything you need to know

The new Honda WR-V takes inspiration from the Honda RS SUV concept, with a tailgate design and roofline reminiscent of a coupe and SUV cross. The WR-V sports wraparound headlights upfront, on either side of a newly designed grille. The midsize SUV will be offered in two wheel sizes of 16 and 17-inch alloys. At the rear, Honda WR-V flaunts slim LED taillights and a new muscular bumper.

Dimensionally, the WR-V stands at 4,060 mm in length, 1,789 mm in width, and 1,608 mm in height. This makes it 60 mm longer, 46 mm wider, and 7 mm taller than its previous avatar. The new Honda WR-V also boasts a ground clearance of 220 mm and a boot space of 380 litres. The platform underpinning the WR-V remains unchanged.

Inside, the Honda WR-V gets the same interiors as Honda Amaze. It comes in a dual-tone theme and leather seats with red stitching. When it comes to safety features, the new WR-V gets six airbags, ADAS tech, lane assist, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, and auto high beam assist.

Under the hood, the Honda WR-V is powered by a 1.5-litre petrol engine that can produce a maximum power of 121hp and 145Nm torque. This engine is paired with a 5-speed manual or a CVT gearbox.

Conclusion

It remains unclear whether the next-gen Honda WR-V will be launched in India. As things currently stand, Honda is working on a new SUV for the Indian market, which will be underpinned by 5th gen City’s platform and will be 4.2 metres in length. This SUV will rival the likes of Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, and Toyota Urban Cruiser HyRyder.
