Land Rover has taken the wraps off the new Range Rover Sport SV, its most powerful SUV yet. The luxury SUV gets a new engine and tech upgrades across the board. Land Rover says that the SUV blends “supreme performance and dynamism with peerless Range Rover capability”.

The highlight of the Range Rover Sport SV is its 4.4-litre V8 engine. This engine unit produces a maximum power output of 635hp along with 800Nm of torque. This makes the Sport SV the most powerful SUV by the automaker. The 5.0-litre V8 engine on the previous-gen SVR churns out 575hp of power. The new Range Rover Sport SV can go from 0-96 kmph in just 3.6 seconds. The top speed for this SUV has been capped at 290kmph. The power from the engine is channelled to all four wheels by an 8-speed automatic gearbox.

The Range Rover Sport SV gets some design changes, differentiating it from the regular Sport model. The front and rear tracks are now wider and the camber has also been increased. Up front, the bumper and grille design on the Sport SV has been slightly tweaked as well. The square tailpipes from the SVR have been ditched for round exhausts on the SV.

Inside, the Range Rover Sport SV gets new seating with integrated head restraints. Buyers have the option to choose a leather or technical fabric for the headrests. The steering wheel design has also been changed on the Sport SV and it now gets a thicker rim. The steering comes with integrated controls with a special ‘SV’ drive mode button. The SUV is equipped with a 29-speaker Meridian sound system.

Conclusion

Land Rover will launch the Range Rover Sport SV SUV in the coming months. The SUV will be produced in limited numbers and will be sold via invitation only, similar to Edition 1. Deliveries for Sport SV will roll out by the end of this year. The automaker has not mentioned the number of units it will produce for the Sport SV.
