MG Motors has slashed the prices for three of its offerings in India – Hector, Gloster, and Comet EV. These price cuts are within the range of Rs 6,000 – Rs 1.31 lakh. The automaker has also added a new entry-level Executive trim for the ZS EV, further bringing down the starting price of its lineup. Last month, MG Motor updated the Astor SUV with new features and revised its starting price to Rs 9.98 lakh.

New price: Rs 14.94 lakh
Prices for the petrol variants of the MG Hector now start at Rs 14.94 lakh, after receiving a meagre Rs 6,000 price cut. Meanwhile, prices for the diesel variants have been reduced by Rs 79,000. The MG Hector diesel range now starts at Rs 17.50 price.
MG Hector gets two powertrain options – a 1.5-litre petrol engine and a 2.0-litre diesel engine. The turbo petrol engine can generate a maximum power of 143hp with a torque of 250Nm, while the diesel engine can churn out 170hp with a torque of 350Nm. Both engines are mated with a 6-speed manual transmission, while the non-hybrid petrol version also gets the option of a CVT automatic.
New Price: Rs 37.49 lakh
The Gloster range now starts at Rs 37.49 lakh, after receiving a price cut of Rs 1.31 lakh. The 2.0-diesel engine powering the Gloster is offered in a ‘turbo’ and ‘twin-turbo’ configuration. The turbo engine can produce a maximum power of 161bhp and 375Nm peak torque, while the twin-turbo engine can generate a maximum power of 215bhp and 380Nm peak torque. The engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox.
New Price: Rs 6.99 lakh
MG’s urban commuter, Comet EV, gets a price cut of Rs 99,000. It is now priced at Rs 6.99 lakh. Powering the Comet EV is a 17.3kWh battery pack that offers a driving range of 230km. This battery pack has been sourced from Tata AutoComp and is rated IP67 for dust and water resistance. This battery pack can be fully charged in seven hours using the 3.3kW charger. The electric motor on the Comet can produce a maximum power output of 42hp and 110Nm of torque.

MG Motor has not revealed the updated price list for the three cars yet. As of now, only the starting prices for the three lineups are known. Expect different price cuts across the variant list. The automaker has also added a new entry-level Executive trim to the ZS EV which brings its price down by Rs 3.90 lakh. The ZS EV range now starts at Rs 18.98 lakh.
