Next-gen Skoda Kodiaq and Superb teased ahead of debut

Skoda entered the promotional phase for two of its upcoming releases. Skoda Kodiaq and Superb are expected to debut later this year. The second-generation Kodiaq and fourth-generation Superb will be launched in India next year. The automaker recently dropped teaser images for the two releases.

Skoda Kodiaq and Superb: What to expect?

Skoda has dropped the first set of teaser images for Kodiaq and Superb. While these images do not reveal much, they give a glimpse of the silhouette of the two vehicles along with a few other details. The teaser image for Skoda Superb hints at a similar L-shaped LED headlamp as the outgoing model. The tail lamps appear to be C-shaped. Since this is just a silhouette image, the actual headlamps may be quite different from the outgoing model.

Upcoming Skoda Superb

The teaser image for the next-gen Skoda Kodiaq also shows an L-shaped LED headlamp, with an extra hint of lighting underneath it. At the rear, the tail lamp appears to have a C-shaped design. The Kodiaq’s LEDs appear to be more angular than that of Superb. You can also make out the spoiler on the teaser image for the SUV. A teaser image for Superb Combi has been dropped as well.

Upcoming Skoda Kodiaq

Skoda is keeping a tight lid on the powertrain details and specifications for its upcoming models. However, Skoda has announced the powertrain options for the two cars. The two cars will be offered in petrol, diesel, mild-hybrid, and strong-hybrid powertrains. Skoda Superb and Superb Combi will be manufactured at Skoda’s facility in Bratislava, Slovakia. Skoda Kodiaq will be manufactured at the automaker’s production plant in Kvasiny, Czech Republic.

Conclusion

Skoda Kodiaq and Superb are expected to debut in India later this year, alongside their global debut. The two models will go on sale next year. Skoda Superb Combi is not expected to be launched in India. The automaker also has a range of EVs slated to launch by 2026. In India, Skoda Kodiaq rivals the likes of MG Gloster, Toyota Fortuner, Jeep Meridia, and Jeep Compass.
