Mercedes EQE 500 launched in India at Rs 1.39 crore

Mercedes Benz has launched its new luxury electric SUV, EQE 500, at the price of Rs 1.39 crore. Mercedes EQE 500 is the third electric offering from the automaker in India. The luxury electric SUV has been made available in a single 4MATIC variant. The EQE 500 is being imported to India as a CBU unit.

Mercedes EQE 500: Everything you need to know

The new Mercedes EQE 500 retains the classic Mercedes EV design. Up front, the SUV gets a closed-off grille that has also been blacked out. In profile, the SUV sports an aerodynamic design, with clean lines running across its body. Dimensionally, the Mercedes EQE 500 stands at 4,863mm long and 1,685mm tall. It has a wheelbase of 3,030mm.

Inside, the Mercedes EQE 500 gets the 50-inch Hyperscreen unit as standard. The Hyperscreen unit consists of three individual touchscreens – the touchscreen infotainment system, the digital instrument cluster, and an additional display for the front passenger. The three display units are joined by tempered glass. The infotainment systems runs Mercedes’ MBUX OS. The luxury electric SUV also gets a 15-speaker Burmester sound system, multi-zone climate control, haptic controls for the steering, a HEPA filter for the cabin, leather upholstery, electrically powered seats, and a massage function for the front seats. Safety features include nine airbags, ABS with EBD, traction control, ADAS, and more.

Powering the Mercedes EQE 500 is a dual motor setup that generates a maximum power output of 408hp and 858Nm of torque. The SUV can go from 0-100kmph in 4.9 seconds and achieve a top speed of 210kmph. The EQE 500 gets an AWD setup as well. The 90.56kWh battery pack offers a driving range of 550km. It comes with an 11kW AC home charger. There is also support for 170kW DC fast charging. The battery can charge up to 80% in 32 minutes with a DC fast charger.

Conclusion

Mercedes is offering a 10-year warranty on the EQE 500. As mentioned earlier, the SUV is being imported into India as a CBU unit. Mercedes Benz EQE 500 rivals the likes of Jaguar I-Pace, BMW iX, and Audi Q8 e-tron.
