Mahindra Scorpio N crosses production milestone of 1 lakh units

Mahindra Scorpio N has hit the production landmark of 1 lakh units in less than 2 years since its launch. The SUV was launched in June 2022 and is currently priced between Rs 13.60 lakh – Rs 24.54 lakh. Since its launch, the SUV has garnered a lot of consumer interest and clocked a waiting period of up to 17-18 months at its peak. The Scorpio N is one of the fastest Mahindra SUVs to hit this landmark.

Mahindra Scorpio N: A success story for the ages

The Mahindra Scorpio N proved to be an instant success for Mahindra right after its launch in July 2022. The SUV is still in high demand, commanding a waiting period of 6-7 months for some variants. It is one of the fastest-selling SUVs in the country. In January 2023, Mahindra sold 43,000 SUVs in India, the Scorpio N being a massive contributor. This is a 31% rise in sales compared to last year.

The two powertrain options available on the Mahindra Scorpio N are a 2.0L turbocharged petrol engine and a 2.2L diesel engine unit that also powers the Mahindra Thar and XUV700. The petrol unit delivers 167hp of power while the diesel unit puts 152hp of power. The SUV comes with multiple driving modes and has a body-on-frame construction. It features intelligent 4Xplore terrain management technology, offering four modes – Tarmac, Snow, Mud and Desert, with the touch of a button.

Mahindra Scorpio N is also one of the safest SUVs in India, having received a 5-star rating at the Global NCAP crash tests. Safety features on the SUV include 6 airbags, advanced ESC, driver drowsiness detection, advanced seat restraint system, collapsible steering system, anti-lock braking system, Penta-link rear suspension, along with a range of segment-first features like Watt’s link suspension mechanism, frequency-dependent damping, MTV-CL shock absorbers, and much more.

Inside, the Mahindra Scorpio N gets a dual-tone coffee-black colour theme for the leatherette upholstery. The 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Natively, this infotainment system runs the AdrenoX software. Other features on the SUV include a 12-speaker Sony system with 3D surround sound, an uplifted digital instrument console, roof-mounted speakers, as well as a wide electric sunroof. One of the significant highlights of the car is its Alexa-enabled remote start feature.

Conclusion

Mahindra Scorpio N is available in 6 and 7-seater configurations. There are 4 trims on offer – Z2, Z4, Z6, and Z8. In India, the Scorpio N rivals the likes of XUV700, MG Hector, Tata Safari, Toyota Urban Cruiser HyRyder, Hyundai Creta, and Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara. Mahindra also sells the Scorpio Classic alongside the Scorpio N.
