Mahindra Scorpio Classic launched: Prices start at Rs 11.99 lakh

After unveiling the iconic SUV last week, Mahindra has finally launched the Mahindra Scorpio Classic at a starting price of Rs 11.99 lakh. The SUV will be made available in two variants, Classic S and Classic S 11. The Classic S11 is the higher variant and will cost Rs 15.49 lakh. The Mahindra Scorpio Classic will sit right below Scorpio N in Mahindra’s line of SUVs.

Mahindra Scorpio Classic: All you need to know

The launch of the Mahindra Scorpio Classic marks 20 years of success for the iconic SUV. It receives bold upgrades along the exterior including a fierce new grille, a muscular bonnet with hood scoops, and the new ‘Twin Peaks’ Mahindra logo. The LED headlamps have been redesigned for the classic model as well. The Classic S11 variant will receive 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels while the Classic S will come with standard steel wheels. 

A new two-tone beige-and-black interior theme adorns the interior of the new Scorpio. It also receives a classic wood pattern console and premium quilted upholstery. A 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system finds its way to the centre of the dashboard and is equipped with phone mirroring and other modern functionalities. The new Twin Peaks logo can also be found studded on the steering. 

The Mahindra Scorpio Classic receives an updated all aluminium lightweight GEN-2 mHawk engine that produces a maximum power of 130hp and 300Nm torque. This engine will be mated to a six-speed manual gearbox. This engine is 55 kilos lighter and 14% more fuel efficient than the previous one.

Mahindra Scorpio Classic will be offered in two trims – Classic S and Classic S11. With S 11, buyers can choose between a third-row bench seat or side-facing seats. The Scorpio Classic will be made available in five colour options – Red Rage, Napoli Black, D’sat Silver, Pearl White, and Galaxy Grey. In the current lineup, it will sit below the Scorpio N and will rival Tata Safari, MG Hector, Jeep Compass, Hyundai Creta, and Kia Seltos.
