Kia has unveiled its new car The Carens in India: Details inside

Just last week Kia unveiled the sketches of their new car, The Carens. With the aim to revolutionise the market by creating a new segment Kia has launched the Carens in India at today’s global premiere. The Kia Carens could be the next breakthrough product from Kia. Kia Carens is going to be the fourth car made from the house of the Korean carmaker.

The Kia Carens is going to be the first car from Kia’s factory to come with the new design philosophy “Opposites United”. The Kia Carens is a 7 seater MPV (Multi-Purpose Vehicle), with the tough exterior looks of an SUV (Sports-Utility Vehicle). However, Kia is calling it an RV (Recreational Vehicle).

Kia has claimed that the new Carens will have the longest wheelbase in its segment making more room inside the cabin for comfortable long road trips.

The DRLs on the front headlamps of the Carens are designed with Kia’s new signature lighting concept, The Starmap. The car also comes with Kia’s signature-style Tiger Face grille at the front. The sharp character lines with a bold side profile on the side make the car look sophisticated. The black-coloured cladding adds up to the character of the car and the car looks more sporty.

The Starmap lighting design concept is followed at the taillamp of the car as well, with the tail lamp running across the tailgate the backside of the car looks sporty with the chrome finish on the back bumper.

The wrap-around design of the glossy dashboard follows up to the door of the Carens with some chrome garnish at the door, which makes the doors more drool-worthy. The car also comes with a big 10.25-inch touch screen infotainment system at the center of the dash. Kia also provides ambient lighting features in the cabin of Carnes with 64 colour ambient lights.

The car will be offered in 6 or 7 seater variants with 3 colour options — Imperial Blue, Moss Brown, and Sparkling Silver.

Kia Carens Features:

The Carens will come equipped with three different driving modes It will also offer an 8 speaker system by Bose, connected car technology, and front ventilated seats, the car will also get an electronic sunroof.

The new car will be equipped with 2 front airbags and 2 airbags on either side of the front and back of the car, making a total of 6 airbags. 6 airbags is going to be a standard feature offered across all the variants of the car. The car will also come with more safety features like ESC (Electronic Stability Control), VSM (Vehicle Stability Management), Tyre pressure monitor, Hill assist features, and more. According to Kia, the Carens is one of the safest cars in the Indian market.

The Carens will be offered in multiple engines and transmission options like 7 DCD couple with Turbo Petrol and 6 speed automatic with the diesel.

Price and Availability

The price and all the engine options are yet to be announced by the company, the car will be out on roads somewhere in mid of 2022.
