Kia Carens Luxury (O) trim: All the specs

The new Kia Carens Luxury (O) variant is priced Rs 80,000 more than the Luxury trim and Rs 55,000 lower than the Luxury Plus trim. Like the rest of the lineup, this variant will get the new engine that has been updated to meet the BS6 Phase 2 emission norms.

The Luxury (O) trim is only available in a seven-seating capacity. It gets ambient lighting which is adjustable for different drive modes and an electric sunroof. It also gets the 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, leather-wrapped adjustable steering wheel, cooled cupholders for the first two rows, four speakers, and USB Type C charging onboard. Features like ventilated seating, paddle shifters, and the 8-speaker Bose sound system are missing on this trim. These features can be found in the Luxury Plus variant. Safety features on this variant include six airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC, three-point seatbelts for all seats, hill start, and more.

Kia Carens comes in three powertrain options – 1.5-litre diesel, 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol, and the newest 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine. The diesel and naturally aspirated petrol engines on the Carens have also been updated to meet the RDE norms that are set to be enforced in April.

Kia has also introduced the iMT gearbox technology on the Carens. The top-end variants of the SUV will receive an iMT gearbox while the other variants will continue with the DCT gearbox. The new 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine and the diesel engine will not be offered in a manual transmission configuration.
