Jeep Meridian X launched in India at Rs 34.27 lakh

The new special edition Jeep Meridian X has been launched in India at Rs 34.27 lakh. The Meridian X sports some cosmetic and feature upgrades but remains mechanically unchanged. The automaker is also offering top-end accessories for the special edition SUV. The facelifted model of the Meridian is also on its way, with the launch scheduled in late 2024.

Jeep Meridian X: What’s new?

The Jeep Meridian X sports body-coloured lowers, grey roof, alloy wheels with accentuated grey pockets. The SUV retains its signature look with the 7-slat grille and streamlined LED headlamps. The taillights are separated by a chrome bar.

Inside, the Jeep Meridian X flaunts features like Side Molding, Puddle Lamps, Programmable Ambient Lighting, Sunshades, Air Purifier, Dash Cam, Premium Carpet Mats, and an optional Rear Seat Entertainment package.

Things remain the same under the hood as the Jeep Meridian X continues to be powered by the 2.0-litre MultiJet diesel engine. This unit produces a maximum power output of 168hp and 350Nm peak torque. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and a 9-speed automatic gearbox. The SUV can go from 0-100 km/h in 10.8 seconds and can attain a top speed of 198 km/h.

Conclusion

Prices for the regular Jeep Meridian start at Rs 33.77 lakh and go up to Rs 39.83 lakh. As mentioned earlier, the automaker will launch a facelifted model of the SUV in the coming months. Test modules of the facelift have been spotted on Indian roads on multiple occasions. The Jeep Meridian rivals the likes of Toyota Fortuner, MG Gloster, and Skoda Kodiaq.
