The new Hyundai Verna is set to be unveiled tomorrow. Images of the sedan’s interior were recently leaked online along with some exterior spy shots. These images reveal that the petrol and turbo petrol powertrains will have some differences in design, both inside and out. Leading up to the grand reveal, Hyundai has been teasing certain features of the Verna for the last few weeks.

The turbo petrol variants of the new Hyundai Verna will get all-black alloy wheels with red brake callipers. The black and red colour pattern will make its way to the interior as well. The AC vents will get red highlights while the rest of the dashboard has been blacked out. The 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine variants will get dual-tone alloy wheels with silver and dark grey colour theme. There are no highlights on this variant’s brake callipers. Inside, the dashboard gets a dual-tone colour theme as well, with beige upholstery.
The leaked images also reveal new features for the sedan. Hyundai Verna will come with ventilated front seats, multiple drive modes, a parking assist, and an electronic parking brake with an auto-hold feature. This last feature will only be made available in automatic variants, meanwhile, the variants with a manual transmission will get a regular handbrake. The 10.25-inch dual touchscreen that was teased earlier by Hyundai will only be made available on the top-spec trims.
As confirmed earlier, the new Hyundai Verna will get a similar ADAS package as the Hyundai Tucson. The sedan will be equipped with a front camera, sensors, and front & rear radar to offer the necessary ADAS features in the Level 2 package. This ADAS package will include features like lane keeping assist, lane following assist, lane departure warning, leading vehicle departure warning, adaptive cruise control, high beam assist, driver attention warning, forward collision warning, blind spot collision warning, and more.
The 2023 Hyundai Verna will come in two engine options – 1.5-litre MPi Petrol and 1.5-litre Turbo GDi Petrol. The latter produces a maximum power output of 160hp and can be mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 7-speed DCT. This engine is currently found on Creta, Seltos, and Carens.

Bookings for the new Hyundai Verna are currently open at a token amount of Rs 25,000. Hyundai will likely reveal the prices tomorrow. We expect the sedan to cost at least Rs 1 lakh more than its predecessor. Upon launch, the 2023 Hyundai Verna will rival the likes of Volkswagen Virtus, Skoda Slavia, Honda City, and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz.
