Tata Tigor and Tiago AMT CNGs: What’s new?

The Tata Tigor and Tiago CNGs get the automaker’s signature split-cylinder design for the CNG tanks. This increases the boot space, giving the cars a significant advantage over their rivals. The two cylinders have an individual capacity of 30 litres. The Punch and Altroz CNGs also employ this design, freeing up to 210 litres of boot space as a result.

Apart from the automatic transmission and increased boot space, Tata Tigor and Tiago CNGs are equipped with a host of intelligent and safety features. The micro switch in the two cars shuts off the ignition as soon as the fuel lid is open. It can only be restarted when the lid is secured. In case of an unforeseen thermal incident, the iCNG tech on the two cars immediately cuts off the CNG supply to the engine and releases the gas from the cylinder directly into the atmosphere to minimise any risk of inflammation. This tech also detects the minutest of leaks and immediately switches the car from CNG to petrol mode.
