BMW iX facelift revealed globally

BMW has taken the wraps off the new iX EV. The BMW iX facelift gets cosmetic as well as mechanical upgrades. The electric SUV will be manufactured at BMW’s production facility in Dingolfing, Germany. The production phase is set to commence in March and the SUV will go on sale later in the spring. The iX will be launched in India in the last quarter of the year.

BMW iX facelift: Everything you need to know

The new BMW iX facelift gets a redesigned radiator grille with a filigree frame and a structure of diagonal and vertical lines in its interior. The Iconic Glow kidney grille is also available as an option. The headlights have also been redesigned and the LED DRLs and turn indicators now come with vertical elements. The central air dam is now larger while the vertical units on the sides are slimmer than before. Along the sides, the 20-inch alloy wheels get a new design and the skirts get silver inserts. Buyers can also opt for 21, 22, and 23-inch alloys. At the back, the new bumper gets an integrated diffuser.

Inside, the 2025 BMW iX gets a round three-spoke steering wheel and M Multi-function seating. The cabin and dashboard layout has been carried forward from the outgoing version. Other features include a curved display for the touchscreen infotainment system, a Bowers & Wilkins Diamond surround sound system, BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant, connected car tech, active seat ventilation, a panoramic sunroof, and more.

BMW iX is available in 3 variants – 45, 60, and M70. All 3 variants get dual-electric motors and AWD as standard. The entry-level variant produces a maximum power output of 402hp and 700Nm of torque. This is an improvement of 80hp and 70Nm. This variant packs a 94.8kWh battery and offers a driving range of 602km.

The mid-spec variant comes with a 109.1kWh battery pack and offers a 701km driving range. It produces a maximum power output of 536hp and 765Nm of torque. Lastly, the top-spec variant puts out 649hp and 1,100Nm. It gets a 108.9kWh battery. On a full charge, this battery pack can last for 600km. The entry-level variant supports 175kW DC charging, while the other two variants can charge at 195kW.

Conclusion

As mentioned earlier, the BMW iX facelift will be launched in India by the end of 2025. It remains to be seen which variant will be brought to the country. Currently, BMW sells the iX xDrive 50 in India at Rs 1.39 crore. It rivals the Mercedes-Benz EQS, Audi e-tron, and Kia EV9.
