Hyundai has confirmed that the upcoming 2023 Hyundai Verna will come with an ADAS package. The Verna will receive a Level 2 ADAS package along with a host of other safety features. The sedan is set to be launched on March 21.

The new Hyundai Verna will get a similar ADAS package as the Hyundai Tucson. The sedan will be equipped with a front camera, sensors, and front & rear radar to offer the necessary ADAS features in the Level 2 package. This ADAS package will include features like lane keeping assist, lane following assist, lane departure warning, leading vehicle departure warning, adaptive cruise control, high beam assist, driver attention warning, forward collision warning, blind spot collision warning, and more.
Apart from the ADAS package, Hyundai Verna will also get 65 additional safety features. These include six airbags as standard, ABS with EBD, parking sensors (front and rear), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), Electronic Parking Brake (EPB), and more.
In a previous teaser, Hyundai confirmed features such as heated & ventilated front seats and a twin 10.25-inch display. The sedan also gets switchable type infotainment and climate controller, which is a first for the segment. 2023 Verna also gets an 8-speaker sound system by Bose. The current Verna features an Arkamys sound system.
The 2023 Hyundai Verna will come in two engine options – 1.5-litre MPi Petrol and 1.5-litre Turbo GDi Petrol. The latter produces a maximum power output of 160hp and can be mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 7-speed DCT. This engine is currently found on Creta, Seltos, and Carens.
The 1.5-litre MPi Petrol engine puts out 115hp and can be mated to a 6-speed manual or a CVT gearbox. The new Hyundai Verna will be made available in four trims – EX, S, SX, and SX(O). The MPi engine will feature on entry-level trims while the higher trims will get the turbo petrol engine. Both engines are compliant with the upcoming BS6 Phase II norms.

As mentioned earlier, the 2023 Hyundai Verna will be launched on March 21. Bookings for the sedan are currently open at a token amount of Rs 25,000. The new Verna will likely cost Rs 1 lakh more than its predecessor. Upon launch, the 2023 Hyundai Verna will rival the likes of Volkswagen Virtus, Skoda Slavia, Honda City, and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz.
