The Japanese auto giant Honda is all set to expand its electrification ambition beyond 2022. The all-new 2023 Honda Electric SUV e:Ny1 Prototype was recently previewed. According to Honda, the B-segment SUV EV will be at the centre of its future product lineup.
Honda has already penetrated the full EV market with its Honda e, sporting the trademark Honda driving dynamics with its new-age technology and design language. Now, to expand its EV product offerings further, it introduces its e:Ny1 Prototype in the B-segment SUV EV models. The new 2023 Honda Electric SUV will be coming to markets in 2023. The introduction of e:Ny1 is considered as a bold step by Honda, using its core technologies and global resources to achieve its carbon-neutral ambitions.
The all-new 2023 Honda Electric SUV e:Ny1 is said to be specifically designed for its Europe and North American market customers. Design-wise, the e:Ny1 appears to resemble the current-gen Honda HR-V and is expected to be a modified version of the Honda e:NS1 and e:NP1 SUV models revealed in China, expected to go on sale in the Chinese markets in the near future. Honda has also revealed that the e:Ny1 electric SUV will be based on the brand new e:N Architecture F platform that has been developed specifically for its upcoming compact EV models with a front-wheel-drive electric powertrain.
Honda believes that both full hybrid and plug-in hybrid technologies play an essential role in reducing carbon emissions and helping its customers with zero-emission driving. Therefore, Honda is expected to expand further to e:HEV full hybrid technology as well with the launch of an all-new C-segment SUV in 2023. Sitting alongside Honda’s existing HR-V, CR-V and the all-new 2023 Honda Electric SUV e:Ny1, its C-segment SUV will be ideal for those customers that are looking for a sporty and dynamic fully-hybrid EV option.
The all-new e:Ny1 2023 Honda Electric SUV price in India is expected to be in the range of Rs 18 to 20 lakhs (ex-showroom), well above the standard Honda City model.
