2022 Hyundai i20 to Get New Features: Here’s a Complete Rundown of The Car

In order to beat its competitors Tata Tiago and Maruti Baleno in the premium hatchback car segment in India, the 2022 Hyundai i20 is also set to get some cool new additions and features lined up for one of its upcoming iterations ahead. Not only that, but the South Korean auto giant is also reportedly planning to reshuffle its premium hatchback variants’ line-up.

According to Times Now, two new variants will be seen replacing two existing ones in the line-up of the 2022 Hyundai i20. Amongst other changes that might take place include a 1.0L turbocharged petrol engine to be offered with the Hyundai i20 Magna trim along with a seven-speed DCT gearbox instead of the manual transmission option.

It is expected that the Asta trim is likely to come in two petrol variants, a 1.2L petrol unit with a manual gearbox and a 1.0L turbocharged unit with iMT. It will, however, pull the plug on its 1.2L petrol automatic unit and the 1.0L turbo petrol DCT automatic unit. Speaking of the Asta(O) trim, it is now expected to offer a 1.2L petrol engine plus a CVT combo.

The top-spec Asta (O) trim of the 2022 Hyundai i20 is now speculated to come with 6 new activated voice commands for its BlueLink connected car tech which may include a welcome message, sunroof control and driver window control. Further, the Astra trim might reduce the size of the screen of its infotainment system from 10.25-inch to an 8-inch touchscreen.
