Ola S1 Air: Making waves in the affordable electric scooter category

Ola S1 Air has been open for bookings since October 2022. The first day of the purchase was reserved for customers who had already booked the electric scooter. OIa S1 Air is available for purchase at Rs 1.10 lakh for buyers who had booked the scooter beforehand. Regular buyers will have to pay a premium of Rs 10,000.

After a few shuffles, Ola S1 Air is finally available in a single 3kWh battery variant. Ola had added two more battery variants to the S1 Air lineup earlier but finally scrapped them due to a lack of demand. The affordable electric scooter retains the design and look of the flagship S1 lineup. Ola Electric has made a few cosmetic changes to cut down on the overall cost. This includes replacing the grab handle on the seat with a single-piece tubular unit and ditching the curved floorboard for a flatter option.

Ola S1 Air offers a storage space of 34 litres. In comparison, Ola S1 has a storage capacity of 36 litres. The 3kWh battery pack powering the scooter offers a driving range of 125km. Suspension duties on the S1 Air are handled by a telescopic front fork and twin rear shock absorbers. The electric scooter gets standard drum brakes on both wheels. The S1 Air weighs 99kg, which is considerably lighter than the 125kg S1 Pro.

In India, the Ola S1 Air rivals Simple One, Hero Vida V1, Ather 450X, and TVS iQube.
