Skoda Superb is set to make its global debut later this year. Back in April, the automaker shared a teaser image of the Super along with the Kodiaq. Now, Skoda has shared the powertrain details for the sedan. Skoda has also released teaser images for the Superb. In the images, the sedan can be seen clad in heavy camouflage.

Skoda Superb: Everything we know so far

The 4th-gen Skoda Superb will feature a new design for the grille along with sleeker LED headlamps. The ADAS sensors are placed on the new grille. The automaker will also incorporate its crystalline elements into Superb’s headlamps and tail lights. The sedan stands at dimensions of 4,912mm x 1,849mm x 1,481mm. It retains the wheelbase size of 2,841mm. The new Superb also flaunts a larger boot space capacity of 645 litres.

Inside, the new Skoda Superb will get a 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a drive selector mounted on the steering, and hybrid controls. It will get an ADAS package with features like Crossroad Assist, Turn Assist, Front Assist, Predictive Cyclist Protection, and more. The sedan will have 10 airbags.

Skoda has revealed that the Superb will get 5 powertrain options, the same as the new Kodiaq. This includes 2 petrol engines, 2 diesel engines, and a plug-in hybrid. The 1.5-litre TSI petrol engine can put out 150hp by itself and is mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. It also receives mild-hybrid tech. The 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine can put out 204hp and 265hp, depending on the tuning. It is paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox and gets an AWD configuration.

The plug-in hybrid variant (PHEV) of the Superb comprises the 1.5-litre TSI petrol engine combined with a 25.7 kWh battery. Combined, this configuration puts out 204hp of power. The two diesel engines put out 150hp and 193hp.

Conclusion 

The launch timeline for the 4th-gen Skoda Superb in India is still unclear. Skoda plans on re-launching the 3rd-gen Superb in India first. Before it was discontinued, the 3rd-gen Superb was priced between Rs 34.19 lakh – Rs 37.29 lakh in India.
