Dubbed the ‘SUV of scooters’, River Indie sports a bold, muscular design that sets it apart from other e-scooters in its segment. Up front, the scooter gets twin-beam headlamps and clip-on handlebars. The ‘Safeguards’ along the sides of the scooter protect its body panel from hard impact. The Indie rests on 14-inch wheels, which is a ‘first in segment’ feature for the scooter. An under-seat capacity of 43 litres and an additional 12-litre storage in the front glove box make the scooter an exciting option among Indian buyers. The Lock & Load pannier-stays on the sides can be customised to serve multiple purposes.
River Indie is equipped with an IP67-rated 4kWh battery pack that offers a maximum driving range of 120km. Using a standard charger, this battery pack can be charged from 0-80% in under 5 hours. The electric motor on the Indie can produce a maximum power output of 6.7kW (9hp) and 26Nm peak torque. The scooter can go from 0-40kmph in under 4 seconds while the top speed has been capped at 90kmph.
The scooter gets telescopic suspension at the front and twin hydraulic suspension at the rear. It clears the ground at 165mm. Talking about the features, the River Indie gets an LCD dash, LED lighting, bolt-on mobile phone holder, all-weather top box, USB charging ports, reverse parking assist, detachable floor cage, side stand cutoff, and add-on luggage options. There are three drive modes on offer – Eco, Ride, and Rush.
