Manual diesel engine variant added to the Kia Seltos lineup

Kia Motors has added a manual gearbox option to its diesel engine lineup of the Seltos. Prices for the diesel manual variants of Kia Seltos will start at Rs 14 lakh and go up to Rs 18.28 lakh. There are five trims on offer – HTE, HTK, HTK+, HTX, and HTX+. The diesel engine on the SUV can also be paired to iMT or AT gearboxes. The Seltos got a facelift last year and rocks all the latest features.

Here is the price list for the diesel manual variants of the Seltos.

Kia Seltos is available in three powertrain options – 1.5-litre NA petrol, 1.5-litre turbo petrol, and 1.5-litre diesel. The 1.5-litre naturally petrol engine generates a maximum power output of 115hp and 144Nm of torque. It can be paired with a 6-speed manual or a CVT gearbox. In a manual configuration, this engine offers a mileage of 17 kmpl. The mileage for CVT variants is 17.7 kmpl.

The 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine on Kia Seltos generates a maximum power output of 160hp. This engine can be paired with a 6-speed iMT or a 7-speed DCT gearbox. The iMT variants offer a mileage of 17.7kmpl while the DCT variants offer 17.9kmpl. In comparison, the discontinued 1.4-litre turbo petrol engine used to put up mileage figures of 16.1kmpl and 16.5kmpl for the iMT and DCT variants.

Meanwhile, the 1.5-litre diesel engine puts out 116hp and 250Nm. The diesel engine gets the option of a 6-speed iMT, 6-speed automatic gearbox, and now a 6-speed manual transmission. Its iMT variants offer a mileage of 20.7kmpl while the automatic variants offer 19.1kmpl. Mileage specs for the manual variant have not been revealed yet.

In terms of features, the new Kia Seltos facelift gets a 10.25-inch twin-screen infotainment system with Android Auto/Apple CarPlay support and a digital driver display. The AC vents are now sleeker and the HVAC media controls panel gets a slight redesign as well. There are new interior colour options on offer for the GT and X-Line variants. The ADAS package on the Seltos facelift consists of 17 safety features.

Conclusion

Kia recently launched the Sonet facelift as well. Prices for the compact SUV start at Rs 7.99 lakh. Meanwhile, the Seltos range starts at Rs 10.90 lakh and goes up to Rs 20.30 lakh. It rivals the Hyundai Creta, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun, Honda Elevate, Citroen C3 Aircross, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, and Toyota Urban Cruiser HyRyder in India.
