Prices hiked for Honda Activa and Activa 125

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India has announced a marginal price hike for Honda Activa and Activa 125. Activa is the most popular non-geared scooter in India. The scooter gets an Rs 811 price increment for the standard version and a Rs 1,117 hike for the 125cc variant. The leading scooter manufacturer in India plans on launching a line of electric scooters in India next year.

Honda Activa & Activa 125: Here are the new prices

Prices for Honda Activa now start at Rs 75,347 and go up to Rs 81,348 for the top-spec variant. The Activa 125 range starts at Rs 78,920 and goes up to Rs 86,093. Prices for the H-Smart variant of the Honda Activa remain unchanged.

Honda will also be dropping the ‘G’ branding on Activa. The current Activa ‘6G’ will now just be called Activa. Activa 3G was the first of the ‘G’ variants. It was launched back in 2015. Since then, Honda has released 3 generations of  Activa.

Honda Activa is powered by a 109cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine that produces a maximum power output of  7,73hp and 8.90Nm of torque. Honda Activa 125 derives its power from a 124cc air-cooled engine that produces a maximum power output of 8.19hp and 10.4Nm of torque. 

Honda Activa H-Smart: What’s new?

The H-Smart variant of Activa comes with connectivity features like Smart Find, Smart Unlock, Smart Start, Smart Safe features in its system. The ‘Smart Find’ feature helps you locate your Activa by blinking all 4 winkers twice. The ‘Smart Unlock’ feature makes it possible to lock and unlock the Activa without using a physical key. With ‘Smart Start’ the rider can use the Honda Smart Key to remotely start the vehicle when they are within a 2-metre range.

Conclusion

Currently, Honda Activa rivals the likes of Suzuki Access, TVS Jupiter, Hero Pleasure Plus, and Yamaha Ray ZR. The Activa 125 goes up against Yamaha Fascino 125, Suzuki Access 125, Hero Destini 125, and TVS Jupiter 125. An all-electric Activa is set to be released next year and will be underpinned by the existing platform of the scooter.
