Hyundai India is set to launch the all-electric Creta next month. The new Hyundai Creta EV will be unveiled at the Bharat Mobility Show in January 2025. It will go on sale soon after. The Creta EV has been spotted testing in India on multiple occasions across 2024. Its Maruti Suzuki rival, e Vitara, will also be showcased at the Bharat Mobility Show. The Creta EV will be showcased alongside its badge sibling, the Ioniq 9 EV.

Hyundai Creta EV: What to expect?
Hyundai Creta EV will not stray too far from its ICE sibling in terms of design. There are bound to be some EV-exclusive changes on the electric SUV, like a shut-off grille, charger cutout, badging, and more. Other than that, the Creta EV may get new designs for the bumper and alloy wheels. The L-shaped fragmented LED DRLs will be carried over from the ICE Creta.
The interior layout of the Hyundai Creta EV will also resemble the ICE model but it will carry more stylistic upgrades than the exterior. For starters, the electric Creta will flaunt a new three-spoke steering wheel and a drive selector. The centre console area will feature two cup holders and physical buttons for the 36-degree camera, electronic parking brake, auto-hold, and seat cooling. Some of the styling cues will be borrowed from the newly launched Hyundai Alcazar facelift. In terms of instrumentation, the Hyundai Creta EV will carry forward the 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and the 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster from its ICE sibling.
The Hyundai Creta EV will feature a 45kWh battery pack. This makes it a smaller unit than the one on the Maruti e Vitara (48/60kWh) and the MG ZS EV (50.3kWh). It remains to be seen whether Hyundai will introduce multiple battery pack variants for the EV in India. As far as the powertrain goes, the Hyundai Creta EV will borrow the front-axle-mounted electric motor from the Kona EV. This electric motor can produce a maximum power output of 138hp and 255Nm of torque.

Conclusion
Hyundai has commenced the production of the Creta EV. The automaker aims to manufacture 24,000 units of the SUV annually. The ICE version of the Creta is priced between Rs 11 lakh – Rs 20.30 lakh. The Creta EV could fetch up to Rs 18 lakh for its base variant. Upon launch, the electric SUV will rival Maruti Suzuki e Vitara, Mahindra BE 6, Tata Curvv EV, Tata Nexon EV, and MG Windsor EV.
