Ahead of its launch in India, the Audi Q3 has been awarded a 5-star safety rating by Euro NCAP. This rating is applicable to all variants of the SUV. Its Sportback version is yet to be tested by the European body. The Q3 is expected to launch in India in early 2026. It will likely be manufactured in India. 2025 Audi Q3: Euro NCAP crash test results explained
In the Adult Occupant Protection test, the Audi Q3 scored 35 points out of a possible 40. Upon frontal impact, the SUV showed good protection to the head, neck, pelvis, femur, and legs of the driver and the passenger. The passenger’s chest showed adequate protection. In the Side Mobile Barrier and Side Pole Impact tests, good protection was shown to the driver’s head, neck, chest, and pelvis. Tests on the front seats and head restraints showed good protection against whiplash in case of a rear-end collision.
In the Child Occupant Protection test, the SUV scored 42.5 points out of a possible 49. It was tested with dummies for 6 and 10-year-old children. Upon frontal impact, the SUV showed good protection to the heads and chests of the two dummies. However, their necks were only adequately protected. Meanwhile, upon lateral impact, both dummies showed good protection overall. The front airbag of the Q3 can be disabled to allow the installation of a rear-facing child seat in the passenger seat. The Child Presence Detection feature issues a warning to the driver when a child or infant is left unsupervised in the car.
In the Vulnerable Road Users test, the Audi Q3 scored 51 points out of a possible 63. The protection to the head of a struck cyclist or pedestrian was largely good or adequate. Poor results were recorded upon impact to the windscreen’s pillars, base, and top position. The pelvis, femur, tibia, and knees showed good protection across all test locations. The protection of pedestrians and cyclists to the rear of the car was not assessed. The protection of pedestrians against ‘dooring’ (when the door is opened towards the path of an approaching cyclist) was not assessed either.
Audi Q3 is powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo petrol engine. This engine produces a maximum power of 190hp and 320Nm peak torque. It is mated to a 7-speed DCT gearbox that channels the power to all four wheels. The SUV can go from 0-100kmph in 7.3 seconds.

Final Thoughts
Prices for the current model of the Q3 start at Rs 43.07 lakh and go up to Rs 52.31 lakh in India. The upcoming model will demand a premium, fetching up to Rs 45 lakh. Upon launch, it will rival the Skoda Tiguan, Mercedes-Benz GLA, BMW X1, and Volvo XC40.
