Toyota Urban Cruiser HyRyder waiting period reduced to 4 months

Toyota India has reduced the waiting period for its midsize SUV, Urban Cruiser HyRyder, to 4 months. The automaker co-produces the HyRyder with Maruti Suzuki, as a part of their global alliance. The Grand Vitara is Maruti Suzuki’s version of the HyRyder. Toyota Urban Cruiser HyRyder was launched in India back in September 2022. Since then, the midsize SUV has been a crowd favourite along with its Maruti Suzuki counterpart.

Toyota Urban Cruiser HyRyder: Waiting period slashed to 4-5 months

In December 2023, the Toyota Urban Cruiser HyRyder demanded a waiting period of 5-6 months. Now, the window has been cut short by 1.5 months. The top-spec variants of the strong-hybrid SUV seem to be the most in demand. Meanwhile, the mild-hybrid and CNG variants of the HyRyder have a waiting period of 8-9 months and 12-13 months respectively. In comparison, HyRyder’s Maruti counterpart, Grand Vitara, has a waiting period of 2.5 months.

The Toyota Rumion MPV, which is an offshoot of Maruti Ertiga, demands a waiting period of 6-7 months. In comparison, the Ertiga has a waiting period of just 3-4 months. The Glanza, which is a rebadged version of Maruti Suzuki Baleno has a waiting period of 1 month. Meanwhile, the Baleno is delivered to your doorstep within 3 weeks of placing the order.

The strong-hybrid variants of the Toyota Urban Cruiser HyRyder sport a 1.5L engine with the Toyota Hybrid System. The petrol engine generates up to 91bhp power with 122Nm of torque, with the electric motor producing up to 79bhp power with 141Nm of torque. It is also equipped with a 177.6V lithium-ion battery. Toyota claims a mileage of 27.97 kmpl for the strong hybrid setup of the Urban Cruiser HyRyder.

Meanwhile, the Toyota Urban Cruiser HyRyder CNG is powered by Maruti’s 1.5-litre K15C four-cylinder engine which is also found in the CNG variants of Ertiga and XL6. This engine produces a maximum power of 88hp and 121.5Nm. Its fuel economy is 26.6km/kg.

Prices for Toyota Urban Cruiser HyRyder start at Rs 11.14 lakh and go up to Rs 20.19 lakh. Its Maruti sibling, Grand Vitara, is priced between Rs 10.76 lakh – Rs 19.97 lakh. The Toyota Urban Cruiser HyRyder rivals the Grand Vitara, Hyundai Creta, Honda Elevate, Citroen C3 Aircross, Kia Seltos, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, and MG Astor in India.
