Tata Nexon facelift to launch on September 14

Tata Motors is gearing up to launch the Tata Nexon facelift next month. Along with the ICE facelift, Tata will also be launching a facelift version of the Nexon EV. The two Nexon facelifts will be introduced in the Indian market on September 14. Recently, Tata Motors revealed the powertrain specs for the Nexon ICE facelift.

Tata Nexon facelift: What to expect?

The new Tata Nexon facelift will sport a host of cosmetic changes. Its exterior design is inspired by the Tata Curvv and Harrier EV concepts. These concept models were showcased at the Auto Expo earlier this year. Up front, the Nexon facelift gets a split headlamp design. It also gets a new design for the alloy wheels. The tail lamps at the back will be connected by a light bar.

Inside, the Tata Nexon facelift features a new dashboard layout along with a two-spoke steering design. This steering design will also make it on the upcoming Punch EV. Tata has also upgraded the touchscreen infotainment system to a 10.25-inch unit. The AC vents are noticeably slimmer and the HVAC gets touch controls. The SUV also gets a digital instrument cluster. The Nexon EV facelift is expected to carry the same updates in its facelifted model.

Tata Nexon facelift gets no changes under the hood but comes with more transmission options. The 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine will now get the option to be paired with a 5-speed manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. Meanwhile, the 1.5-litre diesel engine will continue with the 6-speed manual and 6-speed AMT gearboxes. The 1.2-litre petrol engine on the Nexon generates a maximum power output of 118hp and 170Nm of torque. Meanwhile, the 1.5-litre diesel engine puts out 108hp and 260Nm.

Conclusion

With the launch scheduled for September 14, Tata Motors will be opening the bookings for the Tata Nexon facelift very soon. It has also been confirmed that the Nexon facelift will be using Punch’s variant names for its own lineup. The SUV will be available in 11 trims. Upon launch, the Tata Nexon facelift will rival the Mahindra XUV300, Hyundai Venue, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger, and Kia Sonet.
