Prices for Maruti Suzuki Swift, Dzire, Celerio hiked: Details inside

Maruti has hiked the prices for Maruti Suzuki Swift, Dzire, Celerio, WagonR, Ciaz, and XL6. The XL6 receives the biggest price hike and is now costlier by Rs 15,000. Maruti Suzuki WagonR receives the smallest hike, with just Rs 1,500 added to its price. The hike is effective from this month and prices for all these models have already gone up. Maruti has not given any specific reason for the hike.

Here are the new prices for Maruti Suzuki Swift, Dzire, Celerio, and more

One of Maruti’s most popular cars in India, Maruti Suzuki Swift gets a price hike of Rs 5,000. Maruti Suzuki Swift range now starts at Rs 5.99 lakh and goes up to Rs 8.97 lakh. Celerio and WagonR receive a minimal hike of Rs 1,500. Prices for Celerio now start at Rs 5.36 lakh for the entry-level LXi variant and go up to Rs 7.14 lakh for the ZXi+ AMT variant. The WagonR range starts at Rs 5.54 lakh and goes up to 7.40 lakh. 

Maruti Suzuki XL6 gets the biggest price hike of Rs 15,000. The XL6 MPV now starts at Rs 11.41 lakh. The MPV was launched in India last year. Maruti Suzuki Ciaz also gets a price hike of up to Rs 11,000. The Sigma and Alpha variants of the sedan get a hike of Rs 10,500. The Delta trim is now costlier by Rs 6,500 and the Zeta trim gets the maximum hike of Rs 11,000. Dzire gets a hike of Rs 7,500 too. Prices for the bestselling sedan now start at Rs 6.51 lakh.

Maruti Suzuki is gearing up to launch its compact SUV, Fronx, this week. The automaker will bring back the 1.0-litre Boosterjet engine for the micro SUV. This engine unit produces a maximum power output of 100hp and 147.6Nm peak torque. This engine can be mated to a five-speed manual or six-speed automatic gearbox. 

Also on offer is the 1.2-litre K Series naturally aspirated petrol engine that can produce a maximum power output of 90hp and 113Nm peak torque. This engine can also be mated to a 5-speed manual or automatic gearbox.

In other news, Maruti Suzuki WagonR and Alto K10 received a 1-star and 2-star safety rating at the Global NCAP crash tests recently. The latest round of GNCAP crash tests was performed as a part of the ‘Safer Cars For India’ programme, which has stricter parameters for testing.
