Prices for TVS iQube hiked by Rs 22,000

TVS Motor Company has announced a price hike for its electric scooter TVS iQube. The price hike is a result of the slashing of FAME-II subsidies. Apart from TVS, other EV manufacturers like Ola Electric, Ather Energy, Matter Energy, and more have revised prices for their electric offerings. While the exact price breakdown is not known yet, TVS announced that the iQube could Rs 17,000 – 22,000 more, depending on the variant.

TVS iQube: The latest e-scooter to receive a price hike

TVS iQube offers a versatile lineup of variants. TVS Motors added three new variants to the iQube lineup last year. The electric scooter is available in 10 colour options. The base model is available in 3 colours – Pearl White, Titanium Grey Glossy, and Shining Red. The mid-spec S variant is offered in 4 colour options – Mercury Grey Glossy, Mint Blue, Lucid Yellow and Copper Bronze Glossy. The top-spec ST variant gets 4 colour options – Copper Bronze Matte, Coral Sand Glossy, Titanium Grey Matte and Starlight Blue Glossy.

The 2.2kWh battery pack on TVS iQube is rated IP67 for dust and water resistance. The base model and S variant of iQube offer a driving range of 100km while the top-spec ST variant can go up to 140km on a single charge. The top speed for the first two variants has been capped at 78kmph while the top-spec variant offers a top speed of 82kmph.

Manu Saxena, Senior Vice President – Electric Vehicles, TVS Motor Company, said, “Towards propelling the electrification journey further in a sustainable manner and keeping our customer at the forefront, after FAME II revision TVS iQube‘s price increase from June 1, 2023 will be in the range of Rs. 17,000 – Rs. 22,000 depending on the variant. TVS Motor is also extending an additional loyalty benefit to its customers who have pre-booked before May 20, 2023. Specifics and further details on this will be available on our website soon.”

Conclusion

The exact prices for each variant of iQube will be revealed in the following days. The e-scooter comes with safety features like vehicle tracking, crash alert, geofencing and anti-theft alert. In India, TVS iQube rivals Hero Vida V1, Ola S1 Air, Bajaj Chetak and Ather 450S.
