Land Rover Defender updated with new features

Jaguar Land Rover has updated the Defender SUV with cosmetic and instrumentation upgrades. While the cosmetic upgrades to the 2025 Land Rover Defender are minimal, more interesting changes have been made to the interior. The accessory list for the luxury SUV has been refreshed with new and exciting options. No changes have been made to the SUV’s lineup and body style variants. The updated SUV has been introduced in the UK and is expected to launch in India in the coming months.

2025 Land Rover Defender: What’s new?

The 2025 Land Rover Defender gets very subtle cosmetic upgrades. The LED DRLs segment of the headlamps is now fractionally smaller. Fog lamps are now standard across all variants, and the tail lamps receive a smoked-out effect. The front and rear bumpers are now finished in Carpathian Grey Satin or Silicon Silver. The front grille gets a glossy bar, and the Land Rover badge gets a darker finish. Meanwhile, the Land Rover branding on the wheel caps has been ditched for ‘DEFENDER’ lettering. The new 7-spoke 22-inch alloy wheels are finished in gloss black. A new ‘Patagonia White Matte’ shade has been added as well.

The 11.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system has been replaced with a larger 13.1-inch display. The bigger display fills the gap between the centre console and dashboard. A new driver-facing IR camera has been added to the steering column to monitor the driver’s attention. It sends audio alerts if it detects drowsiness or inactivity. However, this feature can be disabled altogether. Off-road adaptive cruise control has been added as an optional feature, too.

The 2025 Land Rover Defender also gets new accessories. These include an expedition roof pack, underbody protection, and crossbars. The Octa variant gets a 4,500 kg-rated winch with a carbon-fibre cover as an optional accessory. The Defender 130 gets an air compressor that can adjust the tyre pressure while off-roading.

The 2025 Land Rover Defender continues to be offered in 3 body styles: 90, 110, and 130. There are 5 powertrain options on offer: 2-litre petrol, 3-litre diesel, 5-litre V8, 4.4-litre V8, and 2-litre PHEV. Prices for the luxury SUV start at Rs 1.05 crore and go up to Rs 2.79 crore.
